Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a parent? Have you tried to visualise exactly what a day with a newborn looks like? It’s a hard thing to try to imagine as there are so many variables to consider… will my baby have reflux or colic?  Will she sleep well, will she cluster feed… and what is cluster feeding?  Will I get any sleep… how will I cope with limited sleep?  So many things to consider!

Maybe you already had a baby and didn’t have the postpartum you had hoped for… maybe you didn’t have the support that you needed + now you want to prepare for a more peaceful postpartum! (You are in the right place, mama!)

HELLO!

I’m Ashley, a mother of two girls and a Postpartum Doula.  After my life-changing transition into motherhood, I knew that working with newborn mothers was important to me and something I needed to do.  I realised that not all mothers have a supportive community around them, many mothers feel isolated, alone & overwhelmed by this new world of motherhood. I really believe that each new mother taking the journey into motherhood deserves a nurturing, supportive and safe space to become the mother she truly wants to be.  Mothering the mother and supporting her to be the best mum she can be, while empowering her to make her own choices about herself and her baby in the postpartum period is what I set out to create.  Which is why I run local Workshops for expectant parents!

THE FOURTH TRIMESTER CAN BE CHALLENGING

The World Health Organization (WHO) describes the postnatal period as the most critical and yet the most neglected phase in the lives of mothers and babies. An estimated 1 in 6 women suffers from postpartum depression and many more develop behaviours like compulsively washing hands and checking whether the baby is breathing.

Listed below are common challenges during Postpartum:
